Chapter 6
a doctor, a ghost and maybe few aliens; what could go wrong ?

Chapter 6 :
“ The case was with me me, up until the accident happened and bus crashed. As I woke up after accident, the scene was mayhem . Ambulances and fire brigades were scattered around. I frantically tried searching for case all around the scene as much as I could, but couldn’t…I had to leave the scene before the paramedics could notice me and escort me to hospital” He completed recounting his memories from the night of accident.
“ Where could the case go ? We worked so hard for it. We were on the last stage of completing experiment. We must search for it at any cost. Team look everywhere; don’t leave any bushes unchecked. I will check with team B. Incharge of this team update me till evening.” The leader of the search party ordered.
in the mortuary :
The trio reached the post mortem room .
The bodies were kept on the table. Label tags hanged on their big toe. Strange isn’t it? By around 6 month of life the infant starts developing the identity of self and the man spends his life time to defend the identity his brain has created and even now in death, the need of identity precedes the fact that it’s a mere degrading biological machinery.
Akshara's body lied on the table. The scars on her body, now dried. Deep gash wounds, crusty and swollen.
The rays from the above celling lights illuminated her face and for the first time, Mohit saw her face in it's entirety, humanly flawed and not mere aggregation of faint like he is habitual to see and name it akshara; those faint lines which at times make him question his own sanity.
His observation was punctuated as Dr pranay spoke.
This is the case I was talking about mukul.
‘Victim of Rta. We were to start post mortem but this body has baffled us.” Dr. Pranay started narrating his experience.
Dr. Mukul continued to obsereve the body as dr.pranay spoke.
“ touch the body mukul. It’s warm. Even after 2/3 days….look at these joints….should have been stiff, but the movement across them is so fluid.
Look at her wounds, Mukul. You are House officer right, dr. Mohit?” pranay asked
Fresh out of internship, tell me should we be expecting what we see on this body?”
“ No. The wound healing isn't expected as she died as we were accessing her….body..body should be decomposing. And shouldn't look like she is sleeping. There red discolouration…”
“Yes. That’s what even more concerning. We suspect cyanide poisoning.”
“So this MLC just got complicated.” Dr. Mukul murmured what exactly the trio was thinking.
“Yeah. More work for me. The blood is sent for investigation. Something tells me that we are going to be stuck on this one for while” said Pranay while covering the body again.
“Never have I seen, this type of postmortem changes. It it's intriguing and bothersome that she might be poisoned. ” Said Mukul.
Evening came earlier that day, or perhaps, Mohit was in head to notice the day pass.
The winds were swaying quitely, orchestrating the symphony of leaves rustling.
The lone bulb illuminating the corridors of the passage, exposed a spider working on his web in the corner of celling.
Mohit retrived keys from his bag, a reflex, muscle memory at work because, Mohit’s higher centres of brain were completely occupied by what Dr. Pranay said about poisoning possibility in case if akshara.
A final year medical student, who was on her way to home was possibly poisoned. A potential homecide case. Who would have done it ? What could they possibly achieve by it? What was akshara's identity beyond being a medical student, that someone could potentially have a reason to posion her? And last but not least, is it reality or he is hallucinating?
The questions comsumed his being and the answers would unveil themseleves only as they get reports.
The night never seemed longer.

You're really developing a great plot honestly. This is really getting suspenseful now.
Akshara was poisoned when the bus accident happened, right? And this has to do something with that case you talked about in the beginning, right ? Well yeah I'll be waiting for the next chapter to know that. But this was really great and interesting.
Dr. House will be impressed with this case, lol.
I was confused about the ‘case’ in the beginning… i thought it was talking about some patient's case but later realised that you're talking about case as in a box.
